Welcome to my website! I am a Research Economist at the Bank of England, and an Associate at the Centre for Economic Performance, London School of Economics.
I am interested in financial frictions and their impact on firm-level behaviour (financing decisions, investment, productivity) and aggregate economic performance through their role in the allocation of resources.
Relatedly, I am interested in studying how the behaviour of financial intermediaries can either alleviate or worsen financial frictions, for example in the context of trade in financial services (e.g., syndication), the use of financial technology (Fintech) by banks, and credit market interventions (e.g., forbearance lending).
Previously, I was an Associate Lecturer at St John’s College, University of Cambridge, and a Career Development Fellow in the Economics Department at the University of Oxford and Somerville College. I received my BSc in Economics at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, and my PhD at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Prior to my PhD, I was part of the Economic Consulting practice of LECG where I worked on a number of projects on regulatory and competition economics for clients in the telecommunications, utilities, and financial sectors. I also worked as a Research Analyst in the Office of the Chief Economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, where I covered Central and Eastern Europe.
